The Perfect Virus

With apologies to Dr. Tom Sowell, a small sampling of recent quotes and comments gathered from web sites, social media and correspondence. May they may be worthy distractions as we marinate in our mutually mandated quarantine!

The Perfect Virus

Indeed, this is the Perfect Virus. No known origin, no known cure, no known prophylactic. Every 'medicine', every 'treatment', every 'solution has been ridiculed, demeaned, denied, discarded - except those approved by Government. No Constitution, Rule of Law, legal precedent, economy, logic, values or basic common sense can stand before it. It is the Perfect Virus. But the people and entities that would control every aspect of your life, welfare, security, family, future and death will ultimately claim to have the Cure - which will guarantee them the means to control every aspect of your life, welfare, security, family, future and death. It is the Perfect Virus.
Brian Wilson

It's worth noting that America has yet to elect an All-Powerful King, All-Knowing God or Clark Kent. For the first time in all our lifetimes, this President and his promised agenda has had to deal head-on and publicly with an entrenched 'deep state' bureaucarcy both apathetic and hostile to his proposed changes. He inherited all the policies and procedures of past Presidents, most of which were not designed for efficiency or transparency, but to insure the government's monopoly on power. Yet the Media, political opponents and even some "allies", have and will do anything to prevent and deny any positive accomplishments, even when they benefit the entire country. The immorality of such efforts is not just counterproductive, it's evil – and should be consistently defined as such.

The virus hasn't done a single thing to impact the economies of the world. The politicians have, remember that. This could all end tomorrow if the politicians want it to, it has nothing to do with a virus. A virus cannot close businesses or make people stay home.
So, what do the politicians want? Thousands of years of abusive, historical evidence aside, we know they don't want what is best for humanity since they are responsible for the devastation of the worlds economies and peoples lives.
So it must be something else. Think, what is it?

"I'm astonished that NO ONE is comparing COVID-19 to the 2017/18 flu season with its estimated 35 million infections, 710,000 hospitalizations and 80,000 deaths. And I'll point out that only 35 million Americans were infected of our total population of about 327 million (11%), with no special precautions taken to prevent the spread."
Scott Lively

How do you eradicate a virus by staying hidden indoors and doing nothing? You cant. People need to be exposed in order to create the necessary herd-like immunity.
Vaccines do not create herd immunity, that is why you need to get boosters for the rest of your life, like with the flu shot over and over and over again.
By not exposing ourselves we are setting ourselves up for a lifetime of dependence on drugs to do what our immune systems have evolved to do for us.
The best way to protect those at risk is for the rest of us to be naturally immune. Staying inside and trying to convince others to do the same is not being responsible, it is being socially ignorant and selfish and putting the most vulnerable in harms way.
Nothing wrong with being ignorant of a subject, but it is irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion while in that state of ignorance.

"There will always be germs out there of better than average virulence that will pose a threat of widespread sickness and death. They seem to crop up once every two years or so. If a natural germ can’t be found, there are thousands of unsung Dr. Frankencrobes toiling in bioweapons labs around the world who can manufacture one (the current coronavirus may have been manufactured). Find some group of medical experts, add a Bill Gates or a George Soros, and presto! you have well-publicized pandemic projections of global disaster and death. Lock everybody up! Better yet, per the precautionary principle, lock everybody up before any such deadly germ has manifested itself, so when it does, everyone will be safe."

"Here is a new wrinkle: Check your life insurance policy. If the insured dies in a pandemic, the insurer can refuse the claim.
So someone dies in an accident, heart attack, of cancer, etc. If coronavirus is found in the deceased, then the cause of death would be that virus. Insurer acts American and does not pay the beneficiaries.
This is the same pretense that the World Bank and WHO is making to avoid repayment of its pandemic bonds due in July. "

"Humanity must produce to survive. Stop people from producing and eventually they die. Virtually all jobs are essential to the people who hold them. Although it’s seldom acknowledged, particularly by politicians and bureaucrats playing with other people’s money and lives, life involves choices, some of which have benefits and all of which have costs. How many government workers have lost their jobs? Does anybody in their right mind believe all government jobs are essential?"

Slavery or Anarchy? Anarchy gets my vote which, as defined by Anarchy, is the only vote that counts. In its basic form and application Anarchy promises the Individual nothing more or less than the purest form of Freedom as in Life, Liberty, etc. The obfuscation comes with perpetually biased efforts to define its application in some tightly wrapped, nearly incomprehensible specificity or analogy, purposely designed to trap the discussion in a cul-du-sac of semantic quicksand. Simply put, Anarchy is the 'Golden Rule' with consequences for failure to exercise individual responsibility wholly owned by the person failing. Live and Let Live - what's so hard about that?

"The data collected so far on how many people are infected and how the epidemic is evolving are utterly unreliable. Given the limited testing to date, some deaths and probably the vast majority of infections due to SARS-CoV-2 are being missed. We don’t know if we are failing to capture infections by a factor of three or 300. Three months after the outbreak emerged, most countries, including the U.S., lack the ability to test a large number of people and no countries have reliable data on the prevalence of the virus in a representative random sample of the general population."

"What is the nature of freedom? It is an unassailable natural claim against all others, including the government. Stated differently, it is your unconditional right to think as you wish, to say what you think, to publish what you say, to associate with whomever wishes to be with you no matter their number, to worship or not, to defend yourself, to own and use property as you see fit, to travel where you wish, to purchase from a willing seller, to be left alone. And to do all this without a government permission slip.

What is the nature of government? It is the negation of freedom. It is a monopoly of force in a designated geographic area. When elected officials fear that their base is slipping, they will feel the need to do something — anything — that will let them claim to be enhancing safety. Trampling liberty works for that odious purpose. Hence a decree commanding obedience, promising safety and threatening punishment."

FB Poster: "There is no evidence that would suggest that our government is capable of doing any better."

Brian Wilson: While true, in this context it is irrelevant and immaterial. Easily accessible history shows emphatically Govt's only "talent" is destroying things and killing people - and with tragic efficiency. Despite that overwhelming "evidence", Govt continually and predictably performs with identical results and zero culpability; that makes "hold those accountable" a pipe dream. Considering the extent of "those involved", specifically how could this be practically accomplished? FB posts, "stern letter to follow" and calling Talk shows are the extent of actions taken and with the predictable results - other than relief acquired from venting. Without the accountability of citizens with pitchforks, torches, tar, feathers and more, we are merely engaging in creative writing exercises.

"Those of us who want to restore freedom have two allies: bankruptcy and secession. Police states are inherently expensive. Incarcerating or executing producers dramatically reduces the state’s revenues. Rising costs, dclining revenues: eventually the police state goes bankrupt and collapses amid waxing chaos. Amidst that chaos is the opportunity for secession from an existing political subdivision to set up and defend a society that comports with the ideals of freedom and individual rights. Patience is key; waiting for the inevitable to happen and present such an opportunity. At this time, the best strategy is to highlight the absurdities and injustices of the current system, predict what’s to come, lay the intellectual groundwork for secession, freedom, and individual rights, and find like-minded people."

I would suggest the "bipartisan feeling" post-9/11 was a cocktail of Fear and Anger, both served up by the same repulsive gang advancing today's panic attack. Other Freedom-raping programs, like the Patriot Act, have been loitering in Govt files waiting to be sprung on just such an occasion. I am more amazed and appalled at our talent for immediate and blanket acceptance of tyranny than poor memories.

From The Next President

To any aspiring Democratic politician:

If you'd like to be President one day --  Maybe soon --  Put the following in a full page ad in the WaPo, get yourself booked on some talk shows and read this:

An Open Letter from a Democratic Politician to all Democratic Politicians

My fellow Democrats – Let's face it; we blew it. Lead by Speaker Pelosi, Chairman Schiff and Chairman Nadler, these past 3 years we have conducted ourselves in a way that has severely divided America. Continuing with this impeachment hoax – and it is a hoax and we all know it - will only destroy the Democratic Party and impugn all the great principles we once stood for. Our Leadership – and our so-called 'friends' in the media – have strongly encouraged, even threatened us, if did not 'toe the line'. As a result, regardless of where you're from or how long you've been in office, very few of us will be returning after the coming elections.

We have only one choice to save America and th…

The Gillette "Toxic Masculinity" commercial not-so-subtle lecturing men (their primary clientele) about being Kinder, Gentler Wussies the company says they should be is rapidly fading into the dust of Catholics and Indians, yesterday's news. But before the Forgettable is actually forgotten, here are a couple hardly-mentioned observations about why this TV spot got its embarrassing 15 minutes of fame.
