Filling  in for Michael Smerconish Tues-Thurs, Noon – 3p this week (8/3-5) and Mon-Tues (8/9-10). Michael is syndicated on 40+ stations including WOR/NY, KFWB/LA, Philly, Seattle, Las Vegas, Boston, Dallas, Minneapolis and a bunch of smaller markets. Sadly, most of them db the show to other time slots preventing Live interaction with callers. BUT – I have one helluva guest list for the 5 days! Lew Rockwell, Walter Williams, Thomas E. Woods, Jr., Steven Moore and Jacob Huebert. All guests on at 1p EDT. Dunno whether Smerconish’s people pod cast Guest Host’s shows – but they should this time!

Over the years, there have been countless arguments made and written for the cessation of the morally repugnant and legally dubious “War on Drugs”. Only intellectually flaccid arguments have been raised against it; yet it prevails, squandering lives and treasure while eroding human rights and debasing the very principles of self-governance. The following is one of those gems you find occasionally that screams for greater exposure and distribution. BW

I’m seeing on other blogs and web sites that Time is eating into everyone’s ability to keep up with the Cloward-Piven O-ministration. Myself included.

Since Work continues to siphon off the discretionary hours necessary to maintain a reasonably active and paticipatory blog cum website, I’ll continue to post compelling articles (aka “articles with points I should have written”!) I find in my daily show prep. Feel free to leave pithy and insightful comments…..

First, the Ohio Libertarian Party convention was the best I’ve attended since my first (1978 – Atlanta) when I first met my friend Walter Williams, the keynote speaker. Kevin Knedler deserves all the credit for being the first man in history to successfully “herd cats”. The only bummer was light attendance. While up from last time, considering the writhings of public opinions polls re the Big Zero and general hostility and dissatisfaction to the neosocialist agenda reining down on freedom-loving citizens, I was generally surprised there were so few people there; I was expecting 100’s, not dozens. This is not a shot at Libertarians; they did an outstanding job with a compelling program, featuring my friend, author James Bovard with the keynote address as well as some Q&A from the audience. Rather it is disturbing, what with all the Tea Party hub-bub, those rabid attendees of every bus trip to DC didn’t see fit to take advantage of what was happening just down the road in centrally located Columbus. If, indeed, Americans have finally awakened to the Liberty-threatening dangers of the Leviathan occupying (and growing) in the former-swmap-now-sewer, Washington, DC, they only seem enthusiastic about a new paint job on the old jalopy: the Republican-mobile. After the short-lived joy of a few adrenalin-pumping “Parties”, they will be mildly more educated on the Constitution but just as chained and enslaved on Big Government’s “Lost Freedoms” Plantation.

Off to Columbus, OH to MC the Ohio Libertarian Party Convention. This will be my second attempt. The last time (2 years ago), I pissed off so many Libertarian Neanderthals, the Mgt thought it best I stay away until more of the slugs evolved. It’s debatable whether sufficient time has passed — but by this time Sunday, all questions will have been asked and answered.

Now that we’ve crossed the bridge to utopia by simultaneously shredding the Constitution and establishing the health-care state, it’s worth looking back and seeing March 21, 2010 in the context of recent history. If “fundamentally changing” America means its final destruction, then it seems to have happened in three discrete phases that began long before Obama…..
