One of the Talking Heads actually made a good point recently:
“If you saw Hitler, knowing the sheer evil he caused, wouldn't killing him be justified?”
Brushing past the tedious tendency of some to parse hypotheticals, the obvious point is Hitler was evil and needed to be killed or executed; obviously, millions of soldiers and dollars were spent trying to accomplish that.
So in today's political parlance, calling anyone a Racist is still an efficient way to silence anyone speaking in opposition to whatever point you were making; it's worked for a long time. But typical of the Loony Left, they overdid it. Eventually, everyone has become a Racist because the Woke folk have smeared everyone with that brush. There was nothing left to debate without triggering some snowflake in the audience; “Racist!” was the ultimate put-down until it wasn't. A new pejorative was needed to continue the attack on Free Speech, the First Amendment and all things Constitutional What could be more toxic and irrevocably evil than Hitler and the Nazis?
As the radical lefties (i.e. most Democrats) began to bandy about their new ad homonym, the puppeteers behind the curtain of the Biden administration saw this as a perfeft opportunity to further besmirch Republicans. Of course, this was specifically “limited” to 'Extreme MAGA Republicans', cult followers of the despised Orange Man; others remained “good friends across the aisle”. Bullshit. No one listening at home was making the distinction which bodies were/were not tarred with the same brush. With Victory, Power and Control of Country at stake; Miss Manners was dismissed from the chat.
This latest attack has been operative long enough to rise to the next level. Newsweek reports the Biden Administration's FBI “has announced that the threat of violence and major civil disturbances around the 2024 U.S. presidential election is so great that it has quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump's army of MAGA followers.
Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country," President Biden tweeted last September, the first time that he explicitly singled out the former president. "MAGA Republicans aim to question not only the legitimacy of past but elections being held now and into the future," Biden said.
“By focusing on former president Trump and his MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, the [anonymous] official said, “the Bureau runs the risk of provoking the very anti-government activists that the terrorism agencies hope to counter.”
According to NY Post investigative reporter, James Bovard, “the new FBI Federal bureaucrats heaved together a bunch of letters to contrive an ominous new acronym for the latest peril to domestic tranquility.
“The result: AGAAVE — “anti-government, anti-authority violent extremism” — which looks like a typo for a sugar substitute.
“The FBI recently vastly expanded the supposed AGAAVE peril by broadening suspicion from “furtherance of ideological agendas” to “furtherance of political and/or social agendas.
Bovard also reports:
“FBI whistleblower Steve Friend complained of current FBI leadership: “There is this belief that half the country are domestic terrorists and we can’t have a conversation with them. There is a fundamental belief that unless you are voicing what we agree . . . you are the enemy....
“Biden’s war on extremism could become a self-fulfilling prophecy that destroys American political legitimacy. An official in the Office of Director of National Intelligence lamented: “So we have the president increasing his own inflammatory rhetoric which leads Donald Trump and the Republicans to do the same” — and the media follow suit.”
Predictably reinforcing the FBI's congenital aversion to the disinfecting sunshine of media exposure, the agency immediately issued a vehement denial: "Any allegation that the FBI targets individuals solely for their political beliefs is categorically false, an FBI spokesperson said.”
So that settles it! (stop laughing).
When considering the escalation of confrontational rhetoric and aggressive actions from high ranking government officials in all branches, all agencies, all departments of the Federal - and many State governments – the 'normal' American may personally discover 2024 has all the potential to be extremely dangerous for citizens exercising their First Amendment guarantees of Free Speech.
Bovard concludes: “Will the FBI’s interventions in the 2024 presidential election be even more brazen than its 2016 and 2020 stunts? Will the agency exploit its “assessments” to recruit knuckleheads to engage in another pre-election Keystone Kops plot to kidnap a governor, as it did in Michigan in 2020?
"New crackdowns on purported extremists are especially perilous when FBI seems to stand for “Following Biden’s Instructions.”
"A 1976 Senate report on FBI abuses warned: “The American people need to be assured that never again will an agency of the government be permitted to conduct a secret war against those citizens it considers threats to the established order.
"Unfortunately, Americans may not learn the damning details of another FBI “secret war” until long after the next election.”
