Nothing Changes As Long As You Obey

Image
From: Paul Rosenberg    I hear the same complaints about politicians that you do. And while I understand them, the fact is that complaining accomplishes almost nothing. And there is a very simple reason why complaining has no real effect: Because the complainers keep right on obeying. As long as you obey, the things you complain about will keep on happening. The Proof This idea that “nothing changes as long as you obey” has a modern proof – that of American blacks in the southern United States. Specifically, between the civil war and Martin Luther King Jr. King is badly misunderstood. His legacy has become a tool for garnering of political power. He has been turned into a semi-mystical symbol and used by power grabbers of many types. The real Martin King, however, was a minister who exposed the truth that obedience keeps us in chains. His crucial synthesis was to combine disobedience with goodness. His crucial work (and this is greatly under-appreciated) was to hold disobe

That Hope Thing

It's my hope, I have to believe, that at some point in man's future evolution that even the mention of government will be scoffed at and ridiculed and any attempts at implementation will be met immediately with harsh defenses and demolished immediately. That all icons to the state, statues, memorials, the grandiose buildings, will be razed to the ground and marked as a darker, unenlightened period in our history. That humanity will evolve to a higher plane of existence where "all men (people) are created equal" is more than just words on a piece of a paper but rather at the heart of our humanity. If I don't believe that then what's the point? Should I hope for "less" government? Should I ask the cancer surgeon to only remove some of the tumor so it can grow back again? The state is the disease that infects the hearts and minds of humanity. It is a socially transmitted mental disease that few ever recover from. It's a disease that keeps us divided

Freedom's Final Resting Place

The political soap opera has reached Jump The Shark proportions. The perfectly clear reality of the police state and the ballet of the characters supporting and advancing it is too far along for critiquing, much less even attempting to warn a somnolent citizenry. You know how cranky children get when they don't "get their nap out" or, even worse, when they don't get their way. It's beyond time to switch from Instructively Advising to Outright Condemnation. At least the latter has a morally cleansing effect. Alas, the human race continues to disappoint. The upside, tho, is the wellspring of sustainable observations that support the concept of Anarchy as the final resting place for Freedom. Self-governance, the absence of laws and burden of man-made external force, is as close as anyone will be able to approach Perfection. All it takes, of course, is the caveat of Individual Responsibility. And having no one to blame is a giant step most are unable to make. Maybe th

What if...?

What if I told you I had a job for you that required absolutely no specific skills or experience. No physical requirements, no credit check, no background investigation, no drug test, no interview, no references required and it paid six figures? What if I told you that you would also receive a seven figure expense budget, Cadillac health care and free coach class air travel? What if I told you that you could receive additional income and benefits from other companies without having to produce anything for them? What if I told you that there were no job performance evaluations and regardless what you do or don't do there are no consequences? You wouldn't even have to come to work if you didn't want to. What if I told you that the job was guaranteed for at least four years -- you cannot be fired -- but could be extended with no limits and afterwards you would receive a pension for life? Sound too good to be true? Of course it does, sounds childish doesn't it? How
